GUANAJUATO
MORE VAN VIEWS!
Somewhere on Route 51 between San Miguel de Allende and Delores Hildago, was the very creative roadside attraction! And a small town with lots of church towers.
GUANAJUATO
Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is called the most beautiful city in Mexico. I loved that from where I stayed at Morrill Van Camp, it was a steep descent to downtown and then a good uphill trek on the way back. The first evening I hiked through town and then climbed up to the Pipila Monument which offers a stunning view looking out over the city as the light shifts from twilight to darkness. I discovered a lovely walk back through neighborhoods and across a hanging walkway. The next day, I followed the same route into town and in the sunlight was able to see all the stunning wall art. What a treat!
STREET LIFE
Lots of activity here: cafes, galleries, musicians, murals, street sculptures, parks.
MORE PAINTED BEAUTY
I so appreciate storytelling on walls. Mexican artists are so expressive from the depictions of hardworking people to the whimsical interpretations of nature.
This is like traveling through someone else’s reality and fantasies.
