REFLECTION
I discovered that the simple act of picking up trash could lead to many wonderful interactions with local citizens. I really enjoyed meeting the people of Guyana and got to do some good at the same time. I also realize, that as an introvert, I’m not good at just hanging out. I like having a task to focus on as a bridge to connection. It works! The local newspaper even published my Letter to the Editor about the experience.
I’m so grateful to Farmer-to-Farmer for this amazing opportunity, and to the Guyanese people who I worked with, and the random people I met, for their openness and engagement - Thank you all!
