I have been traveling since 1969 and have seen 48 states and 32 countries.
In 2001 I took my first international hiking trip - walking across the foothills of the Himalayas. I solo walked the Camino Trail across Spain for 400 miles, and solo walked from Prague, Czech Republic to Tubingen, Germany logging 403 miles.
In 2012 I started adventure biking and have spun my wheels for 4,050 miles… so far.
Europe has over 30,000 miles of biking and hiking trails with another 25,000 miles in the works. There are 19 long distance routes called the Eurovelo. The shortest trail is 650 miles and the longest is 6,800 miles.
My dream is to bike them all - travel is freedom!

2024: ‘Hike & Bike’ in Slovenia
Slovenia calls itself “The world’s most sustainable country.”
2/3 of the country is covered in forests!
There are 71 indigenous tree species!
The route I’m hiking is The Panoramic Route: It has hikes to alpine villages & a 35,000 year old cave!
Also a 900 year old Yew tree & waterfalls!
The route I’m biking is the Green Gourmet Route: It crisscrosses nearly all of Slovenia and was named the European Region of Gastronomy for 2021!
